Nonadiabatic pumping through interacting quantum dots.
We study nonadiabatic two-parameter charge and spin pumping through a single-level quantum dot with Coulomb interaction. For the limit of weak tunnel coupling and in the regime of pumping frequencies up to the tunneling rates, Omega less, similar Gamma/variant Planck's over 2pi, we perform an exact resummation of contributions of all orders in the pumping frequency. As striking nonadiabatic sig...
متن کاملAdiabatic pumping through interacting quantum dots.
We present a general formalism to study adiabatic pumping through interacting quantum dots. We derive a formula that relates the pumped charge to the local, instantaneous Green's function of the dot. This formula is then applied to the infinite-U Anderson model for both weak and strong tunnel-coupling strengths.
متن کاملQuantum pumping and rectification effects in interacting quantum dots
We derive a general formula for the pumped charge through an interacting quantum dot by the use of the Fisher-Lee relations within the scattering matrix approach. The pumped charge is related to the dot instantaneous Green’s function and to the time-derivative of the tunneling phase. The last contribution gives rise to an effective rectification term with important experimental implications. In...
متن کاملSilicon Metal-oxide-semiconductor Quantum Dots for Single-electron Pumping
As mass-produced silicon transistors have reached the nano-scale, their behavior and performances are increasingly affected, and often deteriorated, by quantum mechanical effects such as tunneling through single dopants, scattering via interface defects, and discrete trap charge states. However, progress in silicon technology has shown that these phenomena can be harnessed and exploited for a n...
متن کاملSimulation of Direct Pumping of Quantum Dots in a Quantum Dot Laser
In this paper, the nonlinear rate equations governing a quantum dot laser isused to simulate the transient as well as the steady-state behaviors of the laser.Computation results show that the rate equations are capable of simulating true behaviorof a quantum dot laser. Then, the pump rates of the rate equations (which show indirectelectrical pumping of the quantum dots through a wetting layer) ...
